This quick-turnaround project for a remote-learning seminar for school-age children was a challenge on many levels. The client is part of the Colorado Center for the Blind in Littleton, Colorado; Tact-Ed is indebted to the CCB for many years of help and friendship.
The low price point needed and the necessity for a short deadline made creating a dozen 165mm diameter globes an especially intense project.
We used a combination of mold making techniques to make this custom design come to life. The lines show the equator and prime meridian. There is a cap at the north pole and an indent at the south pole for easy orientation as well as a future stand to hold the globes at the appropriate angle.
Below are some production photographs.
